The ICOM conference in Bratislava last week was all about the digital revolution. It went under the headline “Revolution: Velvet x Digital – 30 Years of Digital and Social Media in Museums”.
From Digital Strategy for Museums and Galleries, the museum in Virtual Spaces, legal aspects of the use of digital technologies over digital content presentation as well as the usage of social media in museum communication a wide variety of digital topics was covered during the conference. We will write about several interesting topics and aspects of the conference in separate posts over the coming weeks.
Also Florian from Fluxguide presented our AWS-funded R&D project HoloMuse at the conference. In his talk “HoloMuse – Museum Learning with Augmented Reality” he introduced possibilities and concepts for the use of AR in museum learning and presented the results of HoloMuse and piloting at KHM and Deutsches Museum.
For all who were not able to make it to the conference the talk is available as video.
At this point I also wanted to say a big thank you to Jasna Gaburová and her team at ICOM Slovakia for the invite and their work at this great conference.
