Sharing cultural knowledge – for all target groups. Apps and learning platforms complement museum visits and can be used to provide visitors with a holistic experience. The goal is sustainable learning before, during, and after the exhibition visit.
Here are three of our best practices:
- Museum Rietberg – Interactive learning platform
- Deutsches Bergbau-Museum – Dialog-based storytelling
- MuseumStars – Gamified Education

Interactive learning platform for the Museum Rietberg – awarded with the Comenius Award 2021
“Next Click Nirvana” combines the exhibition experience on site with a sustainable digital platform that was awarded the Comenius EduMedia Seal in 2021. Users can individually collect their exhibition highlights with the digital mood board “Clicks” and deepen their knowledge via a digital glossary. This function is particularly interesting in the context of schools – teachers can use the platform to prepare and structure lessons.
Dialog-based storytelling in the German Mining Museum Bochum
For the German Mining Museum, Fluxguide developed not only a multimedia guide, but also a complete learning platform, dialog-based storytelling and games. Teachers can download material, plan the visit and query results via a web platform. Students, families and groups are sent on an interactive learning journey in the museum via an app. Digital remote offers are available before and after the visit.
Gamified Education with MuseumStars
With the MuseumStars app, users can discover free multimedia content from over 100 museums in a playful way with quizzes and challenges. Exhibition topics are communicated interactively in the app, creating a holistic overall experience before, during and after the museum visit. Motivation is increased by collecting points and leveling up.
