Medical history – interactive and accessible everywhere
How does a pepper become a patient? When did ultrasound become part of modern diagnostics? What does the first fully implantable pacemaker have to do with an ice hockey player?
Our Siemens MedMuseum app provides the exciting answers – and much more. It takes visitors on a multimedia journey through the fascinating world of medical technology at Siemens Healthineers. Visit the museum on site or discover it from the comfort of your own home – both are possible with the app.

Discover for yourself — with the help of digital technology!
This app has been specially designed to enable visitors to explore the exhibition independently while still enjoying an in-depth, informative experience. Digital tours allow visitors to learn more about medical milestones, such as the development of the first X-ray machines or pioneering technologies in diagnostics and therapy. For greater flexibility, content can also be accessed by entering a number — perfect for visitors who prefer to explore the museum at their own pace.
Personal touch included
The MedMuseum is characterised by personal contact and individual support – an aspect that can also be experienced in the app. Instead of relying exclusively on professional speakers, individual audio contributions were deliberately recorded by team members themselves. This creates an authentic, approachable atmosphere that makes the visit a very special experience.

Developing the project website
As a technology partner, we initially conceptualised and designed a website with all relevant information about the project. We developed a uniform, friendly and inviting design language in pastel colours. The project website conveys the research focus and the basic principles (‘facets’) of populism, these facets reappear as a square shape in the logo design.

The CHAPTER app
The application enables users to engage with the topic of right-wing populism. Using quiz questions on selected exhibits from three museums in Berlin, Krakow and London, users learn about the impact and use of right-wing populist methods.
Open questions and ‘soft’ results serve to make grey areas in the formation of opinion visible. Through ‘crowd feedback’, i.e. the opportunity to gain insights into the opinions of other users, the app encourages users to categorise their own views in comparison.
Our design vision was to create an aesthetic that is orientated towards social media, as populist content is increasingly being used there. The UX design of the quizzes therefore picks up on the frequent use of emojis on social networks.
