With MuseumPlus Scan, we have developed a practical extension for MuseumPlus, the tried-and-tested collection management system from our partner zetcom.

The app was designed to optimize the location management processes of museums and to make workflows in depot management more efficient and clearer.

Using the app’s barcode and QR code functions, users can determine the exact location of any object in the collection at any time and ensure that no item is ever misplaced or forgotten. This feature is particularly valuable for large institutions with extensive collections spread across multiple depots or exhibition spaces.

As a mobile and location-independent app, MuseumPlusS Scan supports Apple iOS and Android as well as Bluetooth-enabled scanners (e.g. Opticon) or integrated devices (e.g. Zebra).

The app can also be used without an internet connection. The data is synchronized with MuseumPlus as soon as an Internet connection is available again.

The app is now available from Google Play and the Apple Store:

3D exploration of important cameras

About 100 of the most important cameras from the extensive collection of 360 devices can be explored on the new website of the Camera Museum Vienna.
ail information and expert videos

 Enter the 3D cameramuseum

In addition to detailed information such as manufacturer, camera type, format and medium, the site offers interactive 3D models that provide an all-round view of the cameras – including details that are not visible in the museum. In addition, there are videos in which WestLicht founder Peter Coeln provides fascinating background information on the cameras.

Highlight: Timeline view

Another highlight of the website is the innovative timeline view, which allows visitors to discover cameras in their historical context. This is complemented by a filter and search function as well as various display modes (tile, list and timeline view).

The responsive site is optimised for both mobile devices and desktops.

Features

  • Interactive 3D exploration: experience cameras from every perspective

  • Historical contextualisation: Timeline view to understand temporal connections

  • Multimedia knowledge transfer: detailed information and expert videos

With our Collection Explorer, the LAD offers its visitors permanent online access to its extensive collection – regardless of time and place. The digital museum solution expands the physical exhibition space and also makes hidden depot holdings visible.

Functions such as interactive timelines, intelligent search suggestions, topic browsers and 360° views enable a new, intuitive way of researching the collection and interacting with users. This not only makes the collection accessible, but also brings it to life.
