After World War II, perpetrators and victims found themselves in the same psychiatric and neurological clinic in Vienna. The ward became a reflection of a society undergoing profound change.
More than 700 scientifically researched and digitized patient records form the basis for a curated selection of historical life stories. The web app makes these sources accessible, provides context, and offers an interactive way to explore the fractures of post-war Viennese society.
Dive into the stories
A clear, restrained design on the homepage invites visitors to dive deeper into a story.
Short texts, quotes, and photographs then convey the biographical experiences of patients and doctors.
