MEMORISE makes history accessible through personal life stories. The biographies of former concentration camp prisoners are connected to key events in Nazi history, opening up multiple perspectives on the histories of both memorial sites.

Whether used in the classroom, for individual engagement or academic research, MEMORISE offers different ways of exploring the past for school groups, interested members of the public and historians alike.

App for On-Site Guiding

The guiding app supports visitors as they explore the Westerbork and Bergen-Belsen memorial sites. Tours, individual stops and personal perspectives of people persecuted by the Nazi regime offer different ways to engage with the history of each site and make historical connections more immediate and tangible.

Multimodal Storytelling on a Learning Platform

The MEMORISE learning platform enables historical content to be presented through different digital storytelling formats. The three story modules, Diary, Multimedia and Thought Provoker, can be freely combined and adapted to different topics, perspectives and learning objectives.

Our Research Contribution

As a technology partner in MEMORISE, we were responsible for the concept and implementation of key digital components, from front-end and back-end development to an integrated on-site and off-site learning experience with personalised learning journeys.

We also developed a tool for integrating archival data, connecting historical sources with learning experiences through an intuitive user interface. A second tool supports staff in developing stories and turning them into educational formats.

Digital Learning for Memorial Sites

Tell the history and stories of your site digitally and from multiple perspectives. With MEMORISE Stories, you can combine the story modules Diary, Multimedia and Thought Provoker on the web platform to support different educational goals. With MEMORISE Sites, you can guide visitors directly on site through the guiding app. Tours, maps, stops and personal perspectives make contemporary history interactive and tangible at the historic location.

We would be happy to show you more in a short, no-obligation call.
