The app connects regional monuments, archaeological sites and the fascinating mythology of the region across five routes with more than 40 stops.
Augmented reality, 3D animations, audio content, images and texts open up new perspectives on historical sites, regional legends and scenic features – for tourists and locals alike.
Lively 3D objects
In the interactive 3D object viewer, long-lost historical sites are brought back to life. Visitors can, for example, take a virtual tour of the Roman Villa Rustica and explore it in a 360° view.
Clicking on info points opens up fascinating content about the everyday life, architecture and customs of the Romans.
Immersive AR experiences
History comes alive at original locations: augmented reality makes it possible to experience past times first-hand. A Bronze Age village is brought to life in virtual form, and a historic burial site is made visible again through impressive AR simulations.

The compact website provides all the important information you need to plan your visit: opening times, directions and event information.
On site, the app offers in-depth access to the history of the camp. Users can choose between guided tours with individual stops or free exploration – supported by AR experiences at selected locations.
AR experiences – history becomes tangible
The augmented reality experiences are a particular highlight of the app: Visitors travel through German-German history on the “Wunderbus”. In addition, Mirko Drotschmann alias “MrWissen2Go” accompanies visitors as a digital AR guide and vividly conveys everyday life in the camp at the time.
Deepen knowledge via scan
The former emergency reception center has a lot to tell. But how do you convey historical depth without wall texts becoming excessive?
We have developed a feature that links analog exhibition texts with explanations within the app. Technically, this “Object Character Recognition” works by storing glossary terms in the CMS. If one of these terms appears in a wall text and a visitor scans it with their cell phone camera, the word is recognized. A page with further information then opens.

History and future of the forest are the focus of the new “Wald:Welten” exhibition at the Silvanum Forestry Museum.
On behalf of the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature and Geopark, we provided the concept and implementation for five interactive touchscreen stations. We also developed an AR app with additional interactive stations for smartphones and rental devices.
Didactic AR elements
The interactive AR experiences enhance the exhibition with impressive digital elements that deepen knowledge in a didactic way and invite visitors to participate.
Visitors can virtually cut down a tree themselves and experience the timber industry from a subjective perspective. Elsewhere, an AR layer overlays a miniature model of the region and provides in-depth information.
The AR stations are superbly implemented – well thought-out in terms of content, convincingly designed, and realized with great attention to detail. The fluxguide team has created an extraordinary experience that enriches our exhibition in a special way.

Touchscreens for digital mediation
At several stations throughout the exhibition, visitors can use touchscreens to access in-depth information about the forest habitat. They can learn about the Steirische Eisenwurzen region and climate change, or experience how bark beetles are threatening our forests.
Environmental education with a difference
Want to teach about ecological relationships in an exciting and contemporary way?
Why not with the help of a forest dweller on TikTok? At a touchscreen station, bark beetle “Ipsi” provides entertaining background information about the forest ecosystem. Animated by hand with great attention to detail, “Ipsi” is sure to delight not only young visitors.

With K1_Art, the city becomes a gallery for digital art. An interactive GPS map shows the locations of the works, which can be explored from every perspective in the AR player. And if you’re not on-site, you can enjoy the augmented reality artworks right from your living room.
Start with “Vdounaukanal”
In the first edition of “Vdonaukanal” (April 2024), visitors could explore 15 digital artworks along Vienna’s Danube Canal.
In May 2025, the second edition of Vdonaukanal” was launched in cooperation with Vienna Digital Culture – this time featuring new interactive artworks around Kunsthalle Wien.
“Vdonaukanal” becomes “K1_Art”
In September 2025, “Vdonaukanal” goes international. The third edition of the virtual gallery, founded in 2024, presents digital AR art in Sarajevo. With this step toward internationalization, the app also receives a new name: “Vdonaukanal” becomes “K1_Art”.
