The app provides a digital companion to the accompanying “Phaenomena” exhibition and offers new perspectives on natural phenomena and innovations across Switzerland.

Thematic trails link together knowledge points and bring the content to life in an interactive way. Presented in a multimedia and playful format, even complex scientific concepts can be understood intuitively.

Science on the Go

Heart of the guiding concept are trails: thematic routes where users can experience scientific phenomena and discover exciting local innovations. Each trail connects knowledge with real places and makes science something you can encounter while moving through an environment.

Building relevant knowledge

In addition to guided trails, users can explore subject areas based on their own interests. Content can be saved and gradually grows within the app into a personal knowledge archive that remains relevant over time.

Bring Places and Stories to Life

fluxguide develops edutainment apps and tourism-focused formats that bring places to life through interactive experiences. We would be happy to advise you on the right digital format for your content, target audiences, and technical requirements.

The app connects regional monuments, archaeological sites and the fascinating mythology of the region across five routes with more than 40 stops.

Augmented reality, 3D animations, audio content, images and texts open up new perspectives on historical sites, regional legends and scenic features – for tourists and locals alike.

Lively 3D objects

In the interactive 3D object viewer, long-lost historical sites are brought back to life. Visitors can, for example, take a virtual tour of the Roman Villa Rustica and explore it in a 360° view.

Clicking on info points opens up fascinating content about the everyday life, architecture and customs of the Romans.

Immersive AR experiences

History comes alive at original locations: augmented reality makes it possible to experience past times first-hand. A Bronze Age village is brought to life in virtual form, and a historic burial site is made visible again through impressive AR simulations.

The app uses GPS to guide users to historic sites, brings vanished buildings back to life through 3D reconstructions, and makes Bavarian regional history interactive with video avatars, 360° panoramas, and quiz formats.

Selected app content is also available on the accompanying website, including the 360° panoramas and an interactive game about the „Landshut Wedding“.

Explore Objects in 3D

Tradition conveyed in a modern way

The traditional “Landshut Wedding” can be discovered in a contemporary way with the app: visitors can design digital selfie postcards or encounter a famous Polish bride as a talking painting.

Looking to create a digital city guide or outdoor experience?

fluxguide develops digital outdoor experiences that make places, stories and cultural heritage accessible in new ways. From historical walks and tourist routes to interactive game tours, we combine GPS navigation, mixed reality and 3D content to create engaging experiences on site.

The multilingual  digital guide accompanies a route with nine Climate LOOKouts along a predetermined route in Sparbach Nature Park, turning visitors into real climate forest experts. The forest floor as a CO2 reservoir or heat-resistant tree species of the future – at each stop, multimedia content and quizzes convey different aspects of the topic of climate and forests.

Collecting points with wild boars

Users receive points in the form of small wild boar piglets for correctly answering questions. The more questions that are answered correctly, the larger the herd of wild boar will grow over the course of the hike. At the end, a digital Climate-LOOKplaces certificate can be earned and shared on social media.

Th app offers an exciting play and learning experience for children, school classes and adults who are young at heart.

We developed a compact outdoor app for Breckenridge, a popular tourist region in Colorado (US).

The clearly designed  digital guide contains all the important features that are relevant for visitors. At the same time, the CMS details tailored to customer needs ensure easy handling.

The result is “B like Breckenridge,” a compact and informative outdoor app with a contemporary design and tailor-made solutions in the CMS.

C for compact and customer-oriented

In the short period between receiving the order and going live, we developed a visually appealing digital guide with all the relevant standard features such as GPS maps, transit information, tour tips, filters, and POIs. It quickly became clear which three topics were also essential for the customer. The challenge was to take these needs into account without compromising the compactness and clarity of the app.

´

Adjustments in detail

Breckenridge is a year-round destination. In summer, you can hike there, and in winter, you can ski. To reflect this, the client wanted seasonally changing images for the tour pages. Our solution: a program code that automatically changes two images depending on the specified date. This means no manual effort for the customer, who was particularly enthusiastic about this streamlined solution.

In addition, the region’s excellent transport infrastructure had to be shown on the overview map. However, this turned out to be so excellent that our beautiful map no longer looked beautiful. A myriad of black dots (bus stops) made it impossible to see anything clearly. Our solution: moving the bus stops to a separate information layer. This view can now be activated as needed, similar to Google Maps. This means that all the information is available without compromising the clarity of the map.

Tips as widgets

One of the client’s key concerns was to encourage visitors to behave in a more environmentally conscious manner. Our solution: small, color-coded “widgets” with tips that can be freely inserted anywhere in the app, e.g., on the detail pages. Visitors can also read all 21 tips in chronological order.

"You really do have smart developers. I can’t picture a kinder workflow."
