Augmented Reality Updates

Augmented reality continues to be a trending topic in museum education – we want to inspire you with insights into our latest AR projects:

Talking captains, building a paper ship, minigame “loading a ship”
We have completely redesigned the app for the Schifffahrtsmuseum Rostock: Numerous games, exciting experiences in augmented reality and a revised tour offer make the app even more interactive! The Mediaguide accompanies visitors through the exhibition and connects digital knowledge directly with the analog exhibition experience.

Augmented reality locomotive
The “Adler” steam locomotive was the first operational locomotive used in Germany. For the DB Museum, which has two replicas of this locomotive legend, we transformed the locomotive into an AR experience. Users can place the locomotive in the room, define an individual route and set the locomotive in motion.

AR object with hotspots
In the InTaVia research project, our focus is on digital storytelling. We have developed a “Storytelling Suite” that generates exciting stories from biographical and object data. In the “Storytelling Suite”, objects – such as the guardian lion in front of the Swiss Gate in Vienna’s Hofburg – can be brought directly into the living room and viewed in detail. In addition, it is possible to display information about the object via hotspots.
