NEO is aimed at children, young people, and school classes, bringing the topic of biodiversity to life in a playful way. Together with the avatars Margarethe and Alexander Koenig, users go on virtual expeditions, create imaginary landscapes with imaginary animals, and discover exciting facts about nature, biodiversity, and environmental protection.

Whether in class, for school projects, or privately at home, NEO is flexible and allows learning anywhere, anytime.

Expeditions

Together with Margarethe and Alexander Koenig, young researchers embark on exciting expeditions, for example through the African savannah. At each stop along the journey, a variety of tasks await: quiz questions, picture puzzles, listening puzzles, memory games, and interactive matching tasks encourage a spirit of discovery and knowledge.

For each task completed, users receive points, result cards, and animal parts with which they can design their own fantasy landscape with imaginary animals.

What exactly is biodiversity—and what does it affect me? NEO gets to the bottom of these and many other questions. With vivid examples and exciting insights from the Museum Koenig, the platform conveys why biological diversity is so important and how everyone can contribute to its preservation.

Fantasy landscape

Regardless of the expeditions, users can give free rein to their creativity in the fantasy landscape. Here, everything revolves around designing, combining, and inventing: unique fantasy animals are created from various animal building blocks, some of which were collected during the expeditions—as digital collages to admire, share, and marvel at.

The finished fantasy creatures can be downloaded or sent directly to the museum. With a little luck, your own animal will become part of the “NEOfantum” – a growing gallery full of imaginative creatures that creatively enrich biodiversity.

Are you interested in a digital learning platform?

We are convinced that digital knowledge transfer will become increasingly relevant, especially for young people, and can optimally complement analogue learning opportunities. We would be happy to advise you on the possibilities.
