The web application on the Psychiatric Clinic of Vienna General Hospital in 1945 makes the findings of a research project by the Austrian Academy of Sciences digitally accessible. Curated stories from patient files open up new perspectives on war and the post-war period.

Open Web App

At the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Neurology at Vienna General Hospital, perpetrators and victims encountered one another after the end of the war. The hospital ward thus reflected post-war society and its fractures in a unique way.

From more than 700 scientifically processed and digitized patient files, a curated selection is now publicly accessible in the web app.
